Northcote 1 - Pendant

Prototype pendant.

Recycled Australian Jarrah given to me by a friend, and with an interesting history. Formerly flooring removed from the Victorian Police Band Hall in Northcote, which was previously an Army Drill Hall. Very old, very hard timber with beautiful tight grain.

I've applied a dark stain to the inside surfaces enhancing the radiating design. The grain can still be seen.

To hang level and straight, the weight within the timber elements is evenly distributed left and right. The volume of timber is identical on the left and right side, just contained in different shapes.

Surgical grade stainless steel

All timber is protected with an ultra-hard hypoallergenic sealer to withstand knocks and resist the absorption of skin oils and stains.
