Half Shelby - Pendant
Handcrafted in recycled Tasmanian Oak (Eucalyptus).
The Half Shelby Pendant was initially created by accident, but ended up so nice it's now part of our family!
One day when making a Shelby pendant I slipped in the final stages and damaged some of the smaller timbers. I put that aside, and coming back to it later carefully cut off the smaller timbers which finished it off surprisingly well. So I made a bunch more Half Shelbys!
The name is a slight misnomer. The Half Shelby is well over half the size of a full Shelby pendant, but it is smaller, simpler, and a little bolder in form. A versatile geometric wood necklace showcasing the warm muted tones of Australian hardwood.
As with many of my designs, the bold array of radiating timbers bring this piece to life and create an amazing dynamic from different angles and light sources. Gaps between the timbers provide glimpses through the piece, giving this pendant an attractive lightness that really engages with and accompanies its background.
This piece really works in so many different settings, and as either a bold statement or softer accent with different clothing / accompaniment.
